Yes, Professor Chandra Wickremesinghe and Fred Hoyle proposed this theory, the panspermia hypothesis, that proposed how to explain, the ultimate question, how life originated. It said life seeded here from space via a comet. It is a very interesting theory. And most of our ocean water also originated the same way.
