PBUH short form of PEACE BE UPON HIM. In ISLAM we must salute and respect the prophets and the messangers of ALLAH swt. In the glorious Quran ALLAH swt command us:

"Allah and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O ye that believe! Send ye blessings on him, and salute him with all respect."

Surah 33 entitled Al-Ahzab (The Confederates), ayah (verse) 56:

Ahmad Bayhaqi reports that Abu Hurairah said that Muhammad PBUH said:

Send the Salat on Allah's messengers and prophets for Allah sent them as He sent me.

—Muhammad

according to above Quran versus and Hadeeth we MUSLIMS must respect and salute the prophets and messengers of ALLAH swt.
