One of the greatest differences behind the scenes with the PSP firmware upgrade from 1.5 to 2.0 was that Sony added various checks in the code that apparently prohibit the unit from playing hacked or downloaded games. So as far as I can ascertain, no, you cannot run games you download onto your PSP if you're running any version of the firmware greater than 1.5.

first u should have a custom firmware.for that u should hack ur psp.THEN U CAN INSTALL DOWNLOADED PSP GAMES INTO UR PSP.dont ask me how to hack the psp.becuz i also cannot understand how to do it.u can go to ypu tube and just type how to hack a psp.then u'll get many tutorials about it.just go through them and try to hack ur psp.Thank u for reading this.....

    I f You have PSP-2000 its really hard to crack,,,,, if Something gose wrong thats the end of youre psp....There are tool that let you to backup the currant Firmare,,,,,
    it not wort risking youre psp... I also have psp never done the Upgrade,,,What ever do be carefull
