Hi everyone,

I'm planning to take the PTE Academic exam sometime in late November. I've never taken an English language test since school days, and I'm feeling a bit nervous. Whatever English I know, I learnt from school, and I know for a fact that my English language skills have diminished quite extensively over the years. I'm also on a tight budget, so I need to be very wise and very confident when I decide to take the exam. Please be kind enough to provide any advice or experiences you have that you think would benefit me and could increase my chances of getting the desired score.

1. In your opinion, is it possible to pass the test with over 65 marks within approximately 2 months' time?
2. Which online resources would you recommend for someone planning to take the test within a short period of time?
3. If I plan to take the test in late November, when is the appropriate time to book an exam?
4. Which test centres would you recommend?
5. What to expect during the examination? Which English should be used: US or British?

4. Which test centres would you recommend? - colombo - knowledge merchandising, they have 12 sheets. if possible ask for a isolated place.
5. What to expect during the examination? Which English should be used: US or British? US or British, it dosnt matter, 2.5 hrs.

my advice is , while ur practising, after 1 month just give it a try a trial run. then you will find it comfatable for the 2nd attempt.

1. Yes two months is more than enough, but check the new score requirement, they have changed it few weeks ago.
2. This depend on your skill level, If you can join for a class (which would cost around 30-40K, and IMO it is worth it), and get access to some practice portal(Alfa pte, APE uni etc), If you are joining for a class, first join the class and then get the app, because some classes uses app to practice, so if you got the wrong app, you have to get another one, once you join the class.
3. You can login to the PTE site and see how the availability is changing based on the current date, and then get an idea. Usually you have to book about 3 weeks prior.
4. It doesn't really matter. but Bamba ICBT center is very good as they have new computers and equipment. I heard some centers has older computer, buggy headphones etc.
5. I think they profile you based on how you do the exam, and evaluate based on that, so if you mixed up both then you will lose marks. recommendation is to follow British (specially spellings)

Usually you have to book about 3 weeks. This is wrong. U can book 24 hours before.
