I think you are slightly wrong.. This is ElaKiri we are here to promote Sri Lankan artist and in here there is no free album links.. we only put Tracks taken from the artists permission and to promote the Album.

thanks for ur Concern... what we really want is to help Sri Lankan PPL first. listen this is our First step. we cant directly go to the higher level and take action on those ppl. we started slowly and as a small website now we are the Biggest and we really respect Sri Lankan Artists and we are so strict in these kind of stuff(Putting Free Album links). we cant take action on those Websites or Rapidshare links. but we are not going to support if some one try to do such things like putting Sri Lankan Artist Albums in the Filesharing websites and try to share it with others we are so strict. and we have to. if not Artist not gainin anything from his or her Talent. so dont think about International Market. think about Sri Lankan Market and Sri Lankan Artist...

I am not from RIAA or MPAA to run after those posts. I am too busy and almost all those links copied from other foreign sites. Anyway our vision is to support srilankan artists and promote them. What we are doing is helping srilankan artists and stopping the piracy from our level as we can. Since we are the largest entertainment site i think we can do something different and become a good example for all the others.

Ha ha so as you said others allow pirating SL music so you want us to do the same too? Since you can download pirated SL music from the net we should allow it too?

Anyway about the piracy as I told you before this is an effort to help srilankan artists and support the srilankan musicians. Please understand I am not doing something like killing piracy. I have better things to do and there are lots of organizations dedicated for that.
When I support SL music as a side effect it may stop some part of the piracy. Please understand this is not an effort to act the role of RIAA.
About the sue issue haha you know even someone post an album collections of srilankan artists they will not sue us coz they know we support them and work with them closely. They will only tell us to remove them. But if we get caught with international music and movies they will only send us a letters from lawyers and next day our server goes down from the US datacenter. Haha bro so this is not an effort to save from get sued.
About your last comment about sl music piracy and drugs I said it coz you were telling that all the other sites pirating music, and people living abroad doing it. So I am doing something useless to save SL music. Haha that’s why I asked you if all the ppl around you do drugs, you also gonna do it? coz that’s the point you took forward.

its not a story, its a little concept. i and i think that it is a good way to look forward... where artists and file shares both can be happy. i am not asking you to apply it to elakiri??? i mean if you ever read it you will see that it cannot be applied to a single web site or something like that... it is a large scale plan... and it is made by some nice people, including lawyers...

And this is an open discussion forum so people can post links without our knowledge. And there is a legal agreement they accept when a member signup with the site. Man don’t live in dreams come down to earth. Lets say I legally allow people to download/collect Ranidu’s Album for Rs 200/- while album costs Rs 500/- in shops. In the same time some other well known srilankan site give the whole album for free.
So according to you, majority of people will Pay Rs 200/- and buy it while that pirate site waiting for few clicks? Nice dream!
