Why is your focuss only on Sinhalese? this can be a common situation to any soceity, any ethnic group. I presume even you are a sinhalese.

Your idea about dependancy inculcated in people since childhood is pretty correct. But how exactly do you relate this as an attribut of being a ponnaya? correct me if I am wrong, my idea of a ponnaya was a person with a bisexual appearance and behaviour.But I do acknowledge the fact that the SL community does label entities as "ponnaya" for his/her decisions, perceptions and moral values, which is not the exact meaning of a typical ponnaya as we know.

Being protective is different than not allowing to be independant

The child who walk alone grows independent..
and knows how to protect himself.
The child who is carried by an adult
grows weak, dependent, afraid.
I have seen parents who carry grade 1-2 children.
How unlucky those children.

And Parents unplug themselves as you grow
because they can't be at your side all the time.

You suffer in your whole life
and you blame the others for not helping you.

The worst is
you bring up your kid as a full time dependent.

The whole nation become dependent
and they depend on thugs

for they feel protected and secured
under tyranny.

Actually in short many of Sinhalese are PO**YO.

So they easily recognize the same weakness in Ranil
and highlight it.

Look at yourself
and see how much of Ranil in you.
How many times in one day
you act like Ranil.

You can't make Ranil a man.
But definitely you can make yourself a man.

Being like Mahinda is also not the solution.
You will end up a leader of a clan of Po**yo.
Then you will have to depend on them.
as Mahinda depends on voters.

but what you said about ranil is not correct , all the people blaming to ranil is just because of huge media power of government & some private companies which controls by UPFA.
