Well atleast Ranil's trying to do something.....this was a method they used in a different countrty. I mean if that fool of a president was not elected we would have had much lower gas prices. Afterall no matter what the price of gas is on the market, a government should be able to lower it. Our government is so corrupted that there is no other option but to raise prices.
If the only reason for high gas prices is war...then that's really lame. I mean we have fought this war for as long as I can remember....and if the amount of LTTE members that died during that period is correct...then there should be none left

I can't understand the ignorance you people have. It seems that you'd much rather have a president based on good appearance rather than intelligence. Typical Sri lankan stupidity. Grow up people. See beyond the basic appearance.
I'm replying for only one reason..and that is for you to wake up see what's really happening. Think of the country and it's development. Not about which nationality deserves to live in a country. I know it feels somewhat patriotic when you hear that our armed forces are killikng LTTE members. But when is this going ot end??

Personally I think the LTTE has already been succesful. They managed to create a sense of suspicion amoung us. We now suspect anyone who waits too long in a bus stand or in front of a shop. Armed forces are checking all civilians, resulting in many difficulties. And they have also created a sense of fear in us. People are now afraid to use public transport.
So I mean how can anyone say we are winning the war? The war will never end. So it is plainly obvious that Sri lanka would be the same undeveloped country it is now.
