If it was Aus the rapist would never find work in a reputable company, due to the nature of the criminal conviction
Even to drive for Uber a criminal records check is a must and those places that hire for cash in hand work are exploiters of labour
So regardless of that individual get to stay in the country, his life in my opinion is completely f###d
Btw just because that jail cell looks "cool" does not mean your freedoms are not taken away - in Aus to go to Jail, you supposed to have done a significant crime. For the lesser offences there are various punishment methods.
Once you are back in the society, you might never find peace as the society could be unforgiving to the criminals
And there's a high chance of a second time similar offence being committed, I believe due to their inability to find work, due to the criminal history - Eg the probability of a car thief committing a second offense is high, particularly for those who are already high-rate offenders - the max sentence for car theft supposed to be 10 years..!
I believe the chance of a OK person to go to prison in a country like Aus is a major preventable traffic incident or manslaughter - eg the story of that SL lady Doctor in WA
