A soldier of  the Kurrkai army camp K.D. Priyantha Udawatta and a soldier of the Civil Defence  Force attached to Thanthirimale police  G. Ajith Somasiri of Indigaspothana,  Thanthirimale are alleged to have kidnapped the schoolgirl and raped her in a  room of a restaurant in  Market Place,   Anuradhapura. The Manager of the  restaurant W.H.M. Padma Kumari of Elayapattuwa, Anuradhapura was released on  certified bail of Rs.50,000 each by two sureties.  The victim was referred to JMO Anuradhapura Ajith Jayasena for a medical  report. Inquiries revealed that the victim’s mother is employed abroad. OIC  Hidagama police and Anuradhapura Child and Women Bureau initiated inquiries and  arrested the suspects on a complaint of the girl’s father.  Source : Dailymirror</blockquote>
