Finding no security, he created the idea of gods in order to give him comfort in good times, courage in times of danger and consolation when things went wrong. To this day, you will notice that people become more religious at times of crises, you will hear them say that the belief in a god or gods gives them the strength they need to deal with life. You will hear them explain that they believe in a particular god because they prayed in time of need and their prayer was answered. All this seems to support the Buddha’s teaching that the god-idea is a response to fear and frustration. The Buddha taught us to try to understand our fears, to lessen our desires and to calmly and courageously accept the things we cannot change. He replaced fear, not with irrational belief but with rational understanding. There were gods of love and war; of thesun, earth, and sky; of the oceans and rivers; of rain and thunderstorms; even of earthquakes and volcanoes.  - Stephen Hawkins in "The Grand Design"මේ කතාව පිලිගන්න පුලුවන් හැම කෙනාම යම් භිතියක් නිසා පමනක් දෙවියන් යදිනවා නම් හො විශ්චාසකරනවා නම් නමුත් ඇත්ත කුමක්ද? අනික් කරුන තමයි හොදයි එ කාලෙ මිනිස්සු විදුලි කෙටිම් , සුලිසුලන් වැනි ස්බාවික වියසන වලට හෙතුන් හරි හැටි නොදැන නිටි නිසා දෙවියන්කෙරෙහි විශ්වාස කලා කියමු නමුත අද අපි ඉන්නෙ 21 වන සියවසේ ඔය කියන විදිහට අද වෙන කොට ලොක ජනගහනයෙන් 90% ක් පමනවත් අදෙව වාදින් විය යුතු වෙනවා නමුත් එසෙ නොවුයෙ මන්ද? ඉතින් එත්නින්ම මෙ මහත්තයගෙ තර්කයත් බුදුන්ගෙ තර්කයත් පිලිබද පැහැදිලි ප්‍රශ්න මතු වෙනවා බුදුන් නම් වැඩ සිටියෙ මිට වසර 2500 කටත් පෙර නිසා එදාට අනුව මෙ කියමන සාදාරන එකක් වෙන්න තිබුනා නමුත් අපි මහ බුද්ධිමත් කියා කියන  Hawkins මහත්තායා අද තත්වය නොදැක 21 වන සියවසේ ඉදගෙන මෙවැනි ප්‍රකාශයක් කිරිම තමයි පුදුමේ?<img src="http://www.adherents.com/images/rel_pie.gif" alt="" class="fr-fic fr-dii fr-draggable " style="" />මේ 2005 දත්තයන් එ අනුව ලොක ජනගහනයෙ 70% කටත් අදික පිරිසක් කුමන හො දෙවිකෙනෙකු ගැන විශ්වාස කරනවා එ විතරක් නෙමෙයි බෞද්ධයන් පවා සිටිනවා විවිද දෙවියන්ගෙ පිහිට පතන එය මා නොසලකා හැර ඇත.ගොඩාක් අය උත්සහ කරනවා අදේව වාදය පතුරුවන්න නමුත් එය සාර්තක නොවනු ඇත ඉදිරියෙදි ඉස්ලාම් දහම තවදුරටත් වියාප්ත විමක් දැකිය හැකි වනු ඇතදැන් අපි එමු ජෙසුස් වහන්සෙ දෙසට .... ඇත්තටම අපි බියක් නිසාද? දෙවියන් වහන්සෙ කෙරෙහි විශ්චාස කරන්නෙ? හුදෙක් බිය දුර ලිමටද? ඇත්තටම ජෙසුස් වහන්සෙට ගොලයන්ට සිදු වුයෙ කුමක්ද?අපි දන්නවා ජෙසුස් වහන්සෙ කියනවා ගැලවිම සදහ අපි එකි නෙකාගෙ කුරුසය ඔසවාගෙන පැමින යුතු බව  ඇත්තටම සතය කතා කරන්න ගියාම අද වෙන්නේ මරණයට පවා මුහුණ දිමට එය ජෙසුස් වහන්සෙටත් ගොලයන්ටත් සිදු වුනා එ ගැන ජෙසුස් වහන්සෙ කලින්ම ඔවුනටද අපටද කියා තිබෙනවා මෙ ගමන සුන්දර එකක් නෙමෙයි ඇත්තටම සතය ලෙස ජිවත් විමටයි අද ගොඩාක් බිය විය යුතු වන්නෙ මොකද අද ඇත්තට තැනක් නැති කරලා සාතන් ඇතුලු නපුරු මිනිස්සු ජෙසුස් වහන්සෙ කිව්වෙ නැ මම ඔබලාගෙ බිය දුරු කරනවා කියා එතුමා කිව්වෙ මෙ ලොකයෙ අපිට කරදරවලට මුහුන දෙන්න වෙනවා කියා, එතුමා වෙනුවෙන් සමහර විට ජිවිතයෙන් සාක්ශි දෙන්නට සිදුවන වා කියාය එපමනක් නොව සියලු නින්දා වලටද මුහුන දෙන්න සිදු වන බවට නමුත් එවට මුහුන දිමට අපිට හැකියාව තියෙන්නෙ එතුමාගෙ අදරය තුලයි“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.
