Yesterday I was having a bash with a couple of my friends.

Once there, a STRONG "religious" man (which religion doesn't matter) started to preach us about his faith.

He went into the extent of claiming us that we will be born Evil spirits (pereatha aathma) the next life time if we don't live according to his faith.

One of my friends chipped in and simply said something which IMMEDIATELY made him shut up for the rest of the day about religion and preaching towards others.

The "simple thing my friend said is"

People who always want to preach you about their religion, NEVER EVER listens to your religion first.

Though this guy was an idiot when it comes to preaching his ideologies, he was not DUMB enough to understand the IRONY as well as the RAW POWERFULNESS of that sarcastic insult.

I don't know how you guys & girls would understand or read this. But keep this in mind before the next time you post comments like

"ookunta hena hathama gahapiya"
"unwa yawanna apaayawal hadanna oney" or
"okunwa ellala maranna oney"

things to threads regarding religion.

Remember, religion is the point of faith as well as the source of EVIL as well.

Didnt really get the supposed meaning of your friends statement...............

But, what you have explained then make real sense & I'm 100% with you......if we are not insecured about our faith, we dont have to go to war with missioneries to protect our faith......................

I think EK memeber Kalyanamithra in his valuable threads & posts explained this nicely & calmly many times, his efforts to be commended........

And, hats off to your courage to post this thing in EK

i dont have a good knowledge in World History ..

Anyway If we look at the recent issue's .. for most of the Wars and Problems.. The main cause is .. Racial Issue's and බල තණ්හාව!!(Ddnt knw d English word for that).. Religion is something which guides the human being for a peaceful life... but.... Its not the Religion which should get the Blame... its the Way People Use the religion.. Making it flexible to there need.. So Blame Goes to d People Who misuses Religion..

However, in a more simpler terms... let me explain this in a little story I learned when I am little.

It's a Chinese fable.

A man was once walking along a path and heard the most CRUDE and the most disgusting noise he had ever heard in his entire life. He wanted to see what it was... and it was a little boy practicing his violin.

He made a vow never to listen to that instrument playing ever in his life.

Next day, when he was walking along... he heard the most beautiful, most enchanting and magical music....only to see a MASTER of a violin playing it.

People who jump their GUNS and insult or come out like real war veterans to preach about their faith.....simply suffer from nothing more than an inferiority complex about their own selves.

They want to constantly PROVE that they are right and what they believe is THE CORRECT faith, regardless of what other's thing or beliefs are.

most people who talking about religion really dont know what it says. they dont even care. they just made some thing and trying to tell it as a religion.

I agree machang Buddhism is a religion of peace and always buddhist should show "Karunawa" towards others.
Even in EK some people who call them self so Buddhist and who is posting threads over threads about Buddhism is also filled with hate.

and yes i agree with jayantha aiya Kalyana Mithra is a good buddhist who respect other reilgions.
