What's the procedure then? Feels fucked when you can't go to your own country.
Need to get approval from foreign ministry. I think approvals are limited due to the infrastructure limitations. I mean if you are willing to go through paid quarantine, yes you will receive quick approval.

No still not. Even for paid quarantine they dont provide approval. For some people they approve fast for some it takes months.

which country you are planning to come from? its all about money and political power. my wife came from the UK around November. She was sent for government duty. yet had to pay about 350,000 for air ticket, hotels, PCR etc. nearly half of the plane were Tamils. her next seet occupied by a jaffna tamil lady who couldnt speak a word of sinhala. so my wife had to translate for army personel handling transprt etc. she said she is here to visit her mom and go back in 2-3 months. my wife tried to see how she got the ticket but she didnt reveal. it seems they bribe the high commission and get approvals

Yes. Look at other countries. All closed for visitors but opened for residence. This is how we treat our people. Many Sri Lankans died in foreign countries due to Covid. Still we inviting foreigners and some infected also came. This is a shame .. meka mage rata nam mata ona welawaka enna puluwan wenna oney neda?

    undisclosed location
    Imo solution would be
    Do tests before flights
    And after arrivals

Then let the people home quarentine.

Since people are people, some insurance is needed to make them home quarentine. So i guess let them sign an agreement stating that if they caught violating the quarentine they will be prosecuted.
    Just an idea

I was wondering how it is even possible all these days. no country will take the responsibility of Sri Lankan citizens. Sri Lanka can't close it's airport and expect other countries to issue visa for lankans living abroad. Every country have their own visa policy.
