The Royal College Group of '93 has launched an initiative to make Royal College, the first Wi-Fi enabled public school in Sri Lanka. The Wi-Fi enabled learning environment is expected to promote enthusiasm amongst Royal College students to follow new methodoligies in learning beyond the existing physical boundaries, and amongst teaching staff to adopt new teaching and communication techniques, said Principal Upali Gunasekara. Group of '93 President Bosha Dayaratne said that the Wi-Fi project will shortly be extended to cover the RCU Skills Development Centre. The Group of '93 will continue to support various RCU projects in the future, he said. The proposed Wi-Fi system will include system configuration to allow only suitable content for children on the Internet. Minister of education Susil Premajayanth, will officially commission the Wi-Fi system on Tuesday, April 1, at 11.00 a.m. at the main hall.
