but its NOT a FACT that you can't be someone like Kohli, ABD or Sanath. its NOT a FACT that you can't be as good as at least a sri lankan national medallist. all you need is passion and dedication with bit of luck. basically strive to be the best you can be. take kohli for example, he was a below par cricketer when he joined IPL in 2007/08. I remember when I first saw him I didn't even back him to hit a six. that's what the impression we had on him. but look where he is now? ABD is no different. he himself has said in number of occasions that how bad his batting was when he first got selected to the SA side. but look where he is now? even for running, if you have the dedication you can go as far as you can. sure you may not qualify for Olympics. but you definitely can compete with a national medallist. sure you might not have Chris Gayle's or Usain bolt's power but that doesn't mean you can't compete with them.

everything else you said is correct. the problem in fact the whole SL education system. but I guess being a 3rd world country you can't expect anything more.

I believe even today Educational department has given students enough attempts to "build up" passion, dedication and what ever the fuck he/she needed to become a future medical practitioner. This is not cricket or any other field to give them lot of chances to be a good medical practitioner. In each chance they will kill someone, they will cause permanant deformity to someone.An who knows one of those sub-optimal doctor might treat and kill my parents, my siblings, my wife or my kids. I will not contribute to that kinda situation.

I believe you are living in Ausi. Why don't you do a little research on qualifications, results a student should have to enter a med school in ausi. Then you might understand why Ausi have a better health care system than us

Godak specialist la surgeon la hospital bara ganaka wada karanawa. Ara list eka balapan lankawe MBBS thiyana kattiya inne. Salli denawa nam onama hospital ekaka wadakaranawa. Nikan me campus wala medical students la thama ka gaha gaha dangalanne SAITM epa kiyala. hehe.

Anik eka lankawe normal doctor kenek ta thama lankawe exam liyanna ona, specialist lata surgen lata lankawe exam liyanna ona naha lankawe wada karanna puluwan. Lankawe kattiyath pitarata gihin oya same exam karala enne.

If someone become a Consultant in some other country, and he/she is willing to practice in somewhere else he/she has to register in that second country's corresponding medical council and corresponding Board controlling the relevant area of study
Example - I become a surgeon here ( lol not in million life times ) I want to practice in UK
First I have to get GMC registration by passing their exam
Then to practice as a surgeon has to pass MRCS ( college of surgeons exam )

Same applies to all the other countries Even in sri lanka they have individual boards for specialties.

And don't confuse the doctors who do their private practice at afternoon are teaching those students in SAITM They just do their channeling like they do in every other private hospital

So please do your research first. Sitting exams and getting approval for your qualification is two different things.
I am talking about foreign surgeons working in sri lanka. Not sri lankan doctors working in UK.

So please do your research first. Sitting exams and getting approval for your qualification is two different things.
I am talking about foreign surgeons working in sri lanka. Not sri lankan doctors working in UK.

"Under the Medical Ordinance enacted in 1924 and amended in 1997, these foreign medical specialists as well as foreign dentists or foreign nurses can seek registration for a period not exceeding 12 months from the date of registration under Section 67A if:

He is possessed of sufficient knowledge and skill for efficient practice

His application for registration is recommended by the Secretary to the Ministry of the Minister, the Director-General of Health Services or by a Dean of a faculty of medicine of a university established, or deemed to be established, under the Universities Act No. 16 of 1978.
The same section clearly states that the Medical Council shall allow the application if it is satisfied that the applicant is qualified to make the application under the preceding provisions of this section"

Mr. Admin, people in the industry knows the issue of SAITAM is not with their consultant panel but the actual workforce, mainly MOs (Medical Officers). I agree that in most of the surgeries they are done by consultants themselves. But if you take an discipline like Anaesthesia, that is bit different. Most of the times the full list is managed by MOs without the boss. The consultant is called only in case of an emergency. This is the case in any hospital and this is where SAITAM fails due to that MO issue. BTW, pls note that, pulmonary edema (noncardiogenic) can be caused by the bad management of Anesthetist. Bro as you said its common in many hospitals. And all those MOs are government university docs with SLMC registration. Yes, how they handle surgery is not acceptable all around private and many government hospitals.
But here unknowledgeable people discussing it saying SAITM students were the people who did the surgery. In that case private medical universities should be stopped to save people from getting killed. I was only enlightening them about the real scenario. Some people here trying to create some different politics out of the topic.
