Sri Lanka rugby player Samantha Lakshan who had been detained by Singapore Police for shoplifting on Monday would be sent back to Sri Lanka on Tuesday by the Sri Lanka team management on the instructions of the Sri Lanka Rugby Football union (SLRFU), sources told “Daily Mirror”.
Lakshan is a member of the Sri Lanka rugby team currently touring Singapore for the Asian Five Nation Rugby Tournament which kicks off on April 14.
Sri Lanka team management found that Lakshan was missing on Monday when they gathered for training at the ground, and had found out later that he had been detained by police after being caught for shoplifting earlier.
Lakshan is key a member of the Sri Lanka Navy team in the domestic league.
