Amid the buzz that Samsung and HTC handsets cheat on benchmark tests, one of the creators of these tests has banned certain models made by the two manufacturers. Futuremark, a benchmark website that ranks smartphones and tablets according to their scoring on its 3D mark test for Android, measures graphical performance of smartphones.
Removed from the website are results for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. The HTC One and HTC One mini have also been excised. Last month, Samsung denied that it artificially boosts the power of its devices when a benchmark test is detected, but did admit that CPU/GPU frequencies are boosted when the device detects a demanding task. Still, the Korean OEM stands by its claim that it does not cheat on benchmark tests.
