Hi guys I have a doubt in my head can someone explain to me this ..

In 2015 Sarath became Feild Marshal but now he is a minister .. Does that mean his feild marshal position is gone ? If not that means he is getting paid from army and parliment as well... Waste of public money

Am correct or wrong .. please clarify

a field martial never retires unlike a general. if the executive branch declares war and if the field martial is called for active service, he's bound to do so. (stories i've heard)
