Asia Cup 2014: Qualification scenarios for India, Bangladesh and Afghanistan :)

    For India to qualify: :P :P :P :P

    Matches remaining – 1
    Points – 4
    Net Run Rate – (-)0.027

Firstly, India needs to make sure that they defeat Afghanistan with a bonus point. Then, hope that their arch-rivals Pakistan lose against Bangladesh, which will lead to a tie at the second place (provided Bangladesh lose one of their matches) between India and Pakistan with nine points each. Net run rate will then decide who meets the Lankans in the finals.

    For Bangladesh to qualify:
    Matches remaining – 2
    Points – 0
    Net Run Rate – (-)0.384

Bangladesh, whose run-rate is battered by heavy defeats against India and Afghanistan, need to win both their remaining matches with at least one bonus point. If they do so with 2 bonus points, which can help get up to 10 points, it will directly send both India and Pakistan out. With one bonus point, they can still entertain their possibilities provided they have a better run rate than Pakistan and India.
    For Afghanistan to qualify :
    Matches remaining – 1
    Points – 4
    Net Run Rate – (-)1.127

Afghanistan, on the other hand, can win their match against India and be in the race for the final spot. They need to not just defeat the Men in Blue, but thump them in a way that they get the bonus point, as well.
