I am half-German, half-Tamil, born and bred till 15 in Germany, and then I moved to Sri Lanka with my mother, and have met Sinhalese from all walks of life, due to my parents’ missionary work.
I have never encountered such attitudes from any Sinhalese. I have found them to be some of the most laid back, kindest, most generous and welcoming people of all the ethnic groups I have encountered through my travels with my parents’ church.
If at all, being Sinhala seems to be about honor, and helping out those in need. I think the Sinhalese have been manipulated and treated very unfairly in Sri Lanka, by elitist, wounded people such as yourself. You seem to be “retaliating disproportionately” in this case, fabricating lies against your own race. If at all yours is the only personality I have ever met, that embodies the contents of your articles about the Sinhalese, perfectly.
And I believe I am right in thinking you are not Sinhalese. You don’t look 100% Sinhalese to me. And your last name suggests that you are one of my Catholique brethren, probably with alot of mix from powerful Tamil elements, that like to spread discord against a majority in any country, and contribute to the blood-shed by supporting a senseless war against non-violent, generous people.
I think you are a hypocrit and the real racist. Shame on you. Who are you to racially profile a whole race of people the way you do? Are you God? Your racial profiling and stereotyping is highly unethical, especially against a race of people that have minimal representatives abroad unlike your LTTE brothers.
How dare you accuse the Sinhalese of being this and that. Have you lived in a Sinhala village, or a suburb? Have you been to a Buddhist temple? How can you stereotype and racially profile people to the extent you do?
I am really quite amazed at your fabrications and lies. Why all the bitterness? Are you married to an LTTE woman? Is that why you fuel this terrorism against a non-violent race of people?
Or will you lose your job (LTTE’s payroll) when Sri Lanka is free again? Or does it make you feel important and give you gratification knowing that you are now a “wedagath” person having written a bunch of books 99.99999999% of the world hasn’t even read?
Shame shame shame.
How can you blame a downtrodden race of peasants for each and every abduction without evidence to the contrary or the actual? What have they done, except vote for the person least likely to betray their race, their blood, their heritage and their lives, to a bunch of blood thirsty communal figures that don’t even care about the very people they claim to represent?
Face it, Mr. Fernando, this is not a racial war, nor a religious war. It is a petty political war by a maniacal dictator, for his petty political reasons and manic childhood dreams fuelled by the action movies he watched.
Have you ever heard of an ordinary Sinhalese burning down their Tamil neighbor randomly? How can a whole race of 14,000,000 people be blamed for the acts of a few radical communist JVP terrorists?
Do you know how my mother escaped the JVP anti-Tamil riots in 83′? She was smuggled to a Buddhist temple by her Sinhala neighbors, in the boot of their car, and she lived there for a week, with donated food and clothes from the Sinhala villagers, until she was able to flee the country, again with the help of Sinhala neighbors.
I hope, all this injustice you know you’re doing to the Sinhalese, come back to you on your dying day. And when that time comes, may God and his son Jesus pardon your tormented soul.
