Those comments are true to a 'certain level'.

People shouldn't ignore those attacks. They should realise the power of the enemy and attack appropriately.

In art of war, Sun Tzu mentioned: If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.

I think this is what heppening now. We know who we are, but we are not trying to identify the power of our enemy. Infact we are under estimating their capability of the enemy due to the Governement media policy.

We know only what we hear through government media. And we do believe it. But what is the guarantee that it is the truth?

Anyway the recent incident created a huge impact in the tourism industry and on the image of Sri lanka. It was becoming a peaceful country after a long time, with war isolated only to North. But again it is not the case now.

Governement and the Forces should be really ashamed of what happened. It clearly showed their weakness in responding quickly.

We should rejoice when we win. But again we should realise our weaknesses when we were beaten rather than using various excuses.

Do not try to under estimate our air force..!

I think we over estimate our forces...
But it is not our fault..
Govt. use false propaganda and we are hypnotized...
Just think of their boasting of capturing kilinochchi soon and being within 2 or 3.5 kilometres away...

:sorry:
It is not false that Air Force failed pathetically on that night.
They can't secure Colombo if LTTE really attack.
What we saw was not what we were told.
I think LTTE just wanted to show
that they can target an important place and hit it.
Now I don't think Govt. will ever catch Kilinochchi.

:(
We over estimate and get dissapointed,
and we deserve it.
The danger is...
when we over estimate our forces
even the truth
can feel like an under estimate.

SHAME ON YOU MATE!!!
IT SEEMS LIKE U R ALSO ONE OF THEM !!!

W E W I L L S E E !!! :frown:

;) This is also a result of the hypnotism...;)
Are you sure that the forces could hit them if they attacked many places in that night... I heard that they roamed for two hours.. Your house could have been attacked and your house could have been attacked...
It can happen in war... But Govt. should not boast so that we think of them stronger than they are...
In 9 months more than 1000 is being killed and it is a world record... Whose fault it is.. Whose faliure it is.
Is it just a collateral damage?
It is very dangerous when a half of the country live just like as if watching a thrilling movie.

:) Celebrate the victories but accept the defeats also. If you deny half of the truth, the accepted part can be false, most of the times.
Truth is everything which happens.... no matter the interpretations.
You have been trained By Govt to think in a certain way... and you follow faithfully.
If any one thinks differently and question the situation you try to silence him accusing him as one of them...
Ok, Brother,
If a real LTTE member asks these questions what would you say.
Can you refuse to answer saying that you are LTTE.
It is strategy Govt uses and you have learnt it well,
but unconsciously.;)

The place I love to live....
me too don't take this what UNP says,

but from my point of view really our forces do not have good defense system against small LTTE air raids. this makes our forces very bad.

all i can say, no matter what our government do, still they cant catch this small dragonflies.

.......infused with fear and blinded by patriotism,

"Beware the leader who bangs the drums of war in order to whip the citizenry into a patriotic fervor, for patriotism is indeed a double-edged sword.
It both emboldens the blood, just as it narrows the mind.
And when the drums of war have reached a fever pitch
and the blood boils with hate and the mind has closed,
the leader will have no need in seizing the rights of the citizenry.
Rather, the citizenry, infused with fear and blinded by patriotism, will offer up all of their rights unto the leader and gladly so.
    How do I know?
For this is what I have done. And I am Caesar."
