    its better that the metal is there about half of that acid will react with the metal and neutralize(hopefully) without damaging the wildlife(sealife :P)

    hmm.. Wonder if the ship will turn in to one huge battery ? :P

    yeaaah .. very true.. Should think about this rite....

    other than the heat, this could make the sea water acidic...

    the marine life needs a specific pH value to sustain the life. interrupting it could definitely destroy the marine life as the marine life is very sensitive to the acidity of the sea water. it supposed to be constant,

    its a big ocean out there, we cant look at it just as the way we look at a lab test on water + sulfuric
    I heard on news that they dragged the ship out of sri lankan waters :P that might help no sri lankan fish will be dead, it'd be better if SL navy extracted the acid from the ship :D that might boost SLs slow going economy too!!

    :lol::rolleyes::P

    yes it will produce metal sulfate, but an unusula amount of metal sulfate could affect the sealife?

    on the other hand, the central grid might 'go down with the ship'..

    Yeah it wont last long, this is not OIL ne... but there will be a small concentrated area... and sometimes its just not the immediate process but the aftermath of it... the domino effect on the balance of the food chain.. you know what I mean!!

    Hey What About The millions of creatures who have CaCO3shells....
    Coz lotz of sea Creatures have a outer carbonated shell
    This Huge amountz if acidz certainly gonna react and kill them instantly!
    & If there are any Coral Gardens nearby
    Oh Shit!
    I don't wanna talk abt it!

    same thing happen in ocean as well, since there are chemicals. ocean water contains a lot of minerals and other chemical which could lead the reaction in a different way,but the majority of the products will be the ionize acid. and also, even though the ocean water has an ability to neutralize a considerble amount of effect, the ocean life is very very sensitive to the changes in the ocean water... even a little change could do a lot of thing..

    what to do man we cant go there n pour NaOH turkish nut cases why the hell did they sunk HERE!!
    Extracting should help SL as sulfuric is a key factor in economy/development and it can be use to make fertilizer(as i know) so i think extracting as much as we can is the right thing to do but its long gone now
