It's easy for someone to say that it is a reality show or an entertainment business but we don't have to use a carbon copy from the reality shows in the west like American idol and etc etc; to humiliate or embarass people.
The major issue here is that while we are promoting a quality reality show we should respect the people's moral values and dignity. It's not the culture we are talking about.
Especially, look at Samitha and how she puts the apprentices down and how she humiliates even the elderly people. the obvious thing that she regularly does is give more attention to the outer appearance of the person rather than evaluating the singing skills.... "sinhalen kiyanne bite ekata gannawa kiyala"
Thinking about the development and growth of a country, we shouldn't practice all these garbage that the western world is practicing right now and offering for nothing.
There are other numerous ways to have the real development for our country by learning the positive things from western or any other part of the world.
The point is to respect peoples' morals, characteristics and their dignity while offering positive and constructive feedback. Only the people who got humiliated by them can know how that actually feels to be in that circumstance....
Coming from a person who is living in the west, I can agree that over here they don't care how bad they insult a person or how much they humiliate an individual for, it is all business to them. That shouldn't be the case in Sri Lanka...
