NVIDIA SLI Question ??

Guys , When running 2 graphix cards in sli configuration, is it a must to use cards with same GPU and from same manufacturer ?, I mean cant we use two cards with same GPU bt different board manufactures ?

eg : 2* 7950gt s (1st board from gigabyte other 1 from xfx) ?

You can choose any brand afaik, but if the clock speeds are different, it will be only two times fast (theoretically) as the "slowest" card.

P.S.
Not recommended though. Better to stick to identical cards.

Mixing different brands were allowed in driver versions as old as 8x.xx. But I don't know how extensive the support is for that sort of thing.
