Thawa deyak thamay, one of my frnds tried to get ADSL from Kuliyapitiya few months back. but he was told there were no free loops so he couldnt get it. S o he gave up. Later a frnd of him suggested him to exchange his SLT landline to my frnd's CDMA. My frnd was happy and went to Kuliyapitiya SLT and told his need to the head.
The head said, son dont exchange connections, there are 2 free loops at your place, u can get ur own line, this is the letter of certification, take this to Kurunegala and get your line.
My frnd said the no-loop case earlier he was told by the SLT. But the head said firmly there were two free loops at my frnd's address.
Then as my frnd was coming out of Kuliyapitiya SLT, he asked technical team whether there were free loops, they said firmly there were none..

I mean this was funny and see how bad SLT workers are, head says the customer can get the service but the boone-licking minor officials say no. I think they wanna get salaries doing nothing..so this is SLT, sri lanka's so called national telecommunication solutios provider.

Yes, that's true.
Then of coz they will try to think about that matter.
If they are not they know more customer will be lost in the company.
So they will try to solve this matter.

Again something happened at Kurunegala teleshop. There's this woman officer working there, named Darshanee, short haired fair lady wearing spects and always in a short skirt..
My bill had arrears and the amount was around 18000 by this particular month. Telecom ppl called and asked me to pay some amount as soon as possible to avoid disconnections. I am at Kuliyapitiya and my girl frnd lives in Kurunegala, since this was an emergency I asked her to get money from bank and pay the amount. The bill was with me but I gave her my SLT account number and necessary data so she would easily pay the bill.
This woman called Darshanee was there in the teleshop and the woman at the counter had told my GF to get an invoice from Darshanee as the bill was not with her.
Upon seeing the amount I had to pay this woman got furious and yelled at my GF...BILL NETHIKARAN ENAWA METHANA INVOICE DAMMAGANNA, BILLA KEEYAKDA, 18000 K, MEWA DISCONNECT KARANNA ONE, MOKATADA ME WAGE MINISSUNTA CONNECTION DENNE etc..I got furious upon hearing this.. I wanted to complain this to Colombo but I didnt thinking that it would cause her (darshanee ) a big problem.
Can she blame customers like that? Firms like SLT run themselves thanks to customers, customers are the asset of a company..this stupid woman may not know that? Guys what do u think about this? Mun monawa karalada SLT eke wedata gihin thiyenne? customersla munge sampatha kiyala hithanna beri ey munta?

For us, it became better since last few months.
A couple of months ago ADSL got to break down every now and then; so we complained. Now they have improved it.

it is the other way round...the fact is now only it is starting to break down..

SLT ADSL is not real ADSL

the problem for SLT is

more users are getting ADSL but they don't increase bandwidth

so everybody gets slow speed

SLT says ADSL 2 is coming soon

if SLT does not increase bandwidth

slow speeds for everybody even with ADSL 2

SLT makes lot of money but they don't invest in more bandwidth

here ISP's invest money on bandwidth

i get a 8MB ADSL @ the office for Rs. 1100(company pays the bill )

the line is just for me

remember here ISP's pay there workers/costs in £'s NOT in Rs.

even with that internet is cheaper here

bro there is sumthing wrong wit ADSL today. it goes offline and then cmes back very often. must be sumthing wrong wit servers!

අපේ පුංචි-අම්මලාගේ ADSL නිතරම Break Down වෙනවාය, සමහර විට Connect වෙන්නේම නැතිය කියලා SLT එකට බලන්න එන්න කිව්වහම (කිහිප සැරයක්ම කියලා කියලා) දවස් තුන හතරකට පස්සේ ඇවින් මහා පචයක් කියලා, අටවලා, හදන්න හෙන බිලකුත් දාලායි ගිහිල්ල තියෙන්නේ, පහුවදාත් වැඩ කරලා නැහැ.

වාසනා ලටත් ADSL දීලා ඇත්තේ රත්මලාන Loops වලින් වෙන්න ඇති, (ගල්කිස්සෙනේ?) අපිටත් රත්මලානෙන් තමයි. අපේ ADSL නුත් ඉස්සරට වැඩිය ටිකක් හොඳයි, ඒත් තවම ඉඳලා හිටලා Disconnect වෙනවා. හැබැයි අපේ පුංචි-අම්මලානම් නුගේගොඩ.
