Citing an anonymous accessory manufacturer, tech site fudzilla reports that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 830 chipset will support fast charging speeds of up to 28W, thanks to the Quick Charge 4.0 technology. Reportedly, the new charger will support configurations of up to 5V/4.7A~5.6A, 9V/4A.

This means Qualcomm has found a way to bring more power to the battery in Snapdragon 830-powered devices without damaging the cell. Indeed, the so-called Intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage (INOV) technology is supposedly able to identify the exact amounts of power the battery can take at any given moment, lowering the energy to prevent overheating when needed.

Smartphones that support Quick Charge 4.0 technology should hit the market in the first quarter of 2017, or as soon as Snapdragon 830-powered devices are introduced by manufacturers partnering with Qualcomm.
