So far the Channels of popular YouTubers – Lakai Sikai, Janai Priyai & Chuti Malli Podi Malli (CM PM Comedy) appear to be missing.</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Georgia'"><strong><span style="font-size: 12px"></span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Georgia'"><strong><span style="font-size: 12px">These YouTubers mainly focused on comedic content and had a large base of subscribers.</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Georgia'"><strong><span style="font-size: 12px"></span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Georgia'"><strong><span style="font-size: 12px">This is not the first time a Sri Lankan YouTube channel has been taken down. Last year another famous Sri Lankan YouTube channel with over 500,000 subscribers disappeared overnight, leaving audiences in confusion.</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Georgia'"><strong><span style="font-size: 12px"></span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Georgia'"><strong><span style="font-size: 12px">YouTube is owned and maintained by Google, and there are many reasons why Google might decide to take down a YouTube account. The general two main reasons why a channel might be taken down is due to YouTube policy violations and copyright strikes.</span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Georgia'"><strong><span style="font-size: 12px"></span></strong></span></p><p><span style="font-family: 'Georgia'"><strong><span style="font-size: 12px">Although the said channels have disappeared, some of their content can still be found on third party Facebook pages and third-party YouTube channels. Furthermore many copycat YouTube channels seem to have sprung up to take advantage of the missing channels.</span></strong></span></p></blockquote><p></p>
