SLT gives a UTStarcom 4 port router ne? Can you guys tell me if that router supports Port Forwarding/Virtual Server.

Ie. When data comes to port 80 on the router IP (given by SLT) the data should be sent to the port 80 on the internal IP (PC IP).

Gonna get IPTV soon and I don't want it if the router can't run my servers... FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, XMail, MySQL

The Visioncom fellows are talking about forwarding of physical ethernet ports, not port forwarding in the proper context. AFAIK only big routers have that capability and I have yet to see a home ADSL router which allows you to assign a WAN interface to an Ethernet port. Even the router given by Visioncom for use with the STB doesn't have such a feature. The IPTV service is merely another virtual circuit on the same path, and further it piggy backs on the internet circuit. I use my own wireless router for IPTV without any problems at all, I kept the one given by Visioncom as a backup.

ADSL routers does have port forwarding capability. 3Com, Belkin and Dlink DSL Routers has this feature. Even no name chinese routers has this feature.

It's not the port forwarding the Visioncom people are referring to!!! First of all read up on port forwarding, and then compare that with what they want to do. Don't even bother arguing with me about this, this is what I do for a living.

to enable the port forwarding capabilities you should have windows XP SP3 or
    other better OS.

There is something called uPNP . that is the protocol that supports you're pc to
    access that port forwarding capabilities.

Yes my router is ZTE yes it also have this feature. you can view you're uPNP support devices on the view netowrk places.

are you talking about the DMZ servers machan. yes in my router ZTE there are
DMZ servers. that means you are using the Dynamic DNS server am I correct ?
But we are all behind a NAT router, so there are limitations on this too.

uPNP is not a routing protocol, it has nothing to do with routing. It's a basic networking protocol which allows devices to broadcast and share their connectivity details with other devices on the network, and is not linimted by the OS.
