මේ තියෙන්නෙ දෙවන ලෝක යුද්ද කාලෙ රුසියාව විසින් තමන්ගේ සබ්මැරීන සගවා තැබීමට පොලොව යට ඉදිකර තිබෙන විශාල කදවුරයි. මේ කදවුර පිහිටලා තියෙන්නෙ යුක්‍රේනයෙ. ඉස්සර නම් මේ පලාත අධි ආරක්ශිත කලාපයක් ඒත් දැන් නම් මහජන ප්‍රදර්ශනය සදහා ඇත.

During the cold war, the Soviets built a secret underground submarine base in the Crimea region of Ukraine at the town of Balaklava. The base was so top secret that the entire town was off limits and the base itself was hidden from sight. It was built in a mountainside to avoid western spy planes and was designed to withstand a direct nuclear weapons blast. The subs that operated out of this facility were equipped with nuclear tipped torpedoes and other weapons.
