The Smartphone Benchmark

SPMark™ is the most comprehensive benchmark for modern smartphones. The retail version works on the latest Symbian OS v9.x based Series 60 and UIQ phones, Windows Mobile v5 and v6 phones and MAEMO Linux OS phones. SPMark enables you to professionally measure and compare performance and power consumption across various smartphones and workloads. The Professional Edition can also be ported to other platforms. SPMark gives an easy-to-understand SPMark score which is fully comparable with that of other phones and between different Operating Systems.
SPMark for Symbian OS v9, SPMark for WinMobile and SPMark for Linux contain the same workloads, and conversely the results of non-graphics tests obtained with both products are comparable between each other.

Real Usage Scenarios

SPMark includes performance and power consumption tests for 3D, 2D and system workloads. 3D tests include an advanced 3D gaming scene and theoretical tests for 3D performance measurement. 2D section features 2D content displaying and image manipulation tests. The system tests in SPMark represent the real usage of a smartphone, e.g. adding entries to calendar and looking up contacts..

SPMark for Symbian Tests

The Professional Tool

SPMark supports both graphics and system tests for measuring an overall performance of a smartphone. It is comprised of different test suites and the user also has the ability to design custom test suites.
The Tests

There are 9 tests in the default set of SPMark. By running these tests, SPMark stresses the smartphone in a similar manner as in a real-world usage. The tests cover different types of usage, e.g. gaming or manipulating images.
Tests in SPMark are:
  • 3D tests:
    • 3D Game
    • 3D Fill Rate
    • 3D Poly Count
  • System tests:
    • 2D Image
    • Image scaling
    • JPEG Encoding
    • Contacts
    • Calendar
    • Disk Access
  • Battery test
    • Customizable

Is this clear enough 4 ya? rookie
