You just read the financial times of yesterday...( FIRST PAGE )
Thanx for reading too...
Yes it is true that Sri Lanka is not the best place to do business...
In my opinion 90% of the blame goes to Terrorism in our country, they attack all our financial hubs (Banks, Airports, Harbors, Petroleum Depots etc. etc.) places that makes international headlines, and there goes our financial stability.
Secondly, I believe Sri Lanka needs a National Plan NOT a Party Plan.. Example Premadasa bought "Janasaviya" we dont need it to become "Samurdiya" for Chandrika we need a single national plan that every government works on.. If they need to change they can always IMPROVE it.. not by giving another name.. this happens all the time one government starts to extend the railway.. when they out of power no talk about the extension because it started by earlier government.. we dont need this...
Thirdly, we need a proper infrastructure for all industries for example Tourism.. Sri Lanka has some of the best places to visit in the world.. like here in Malaysia there's no shitty thing to watch expect for concrete jungles... but Tourism is booming here, foreigners spend $$ like nobody's business.. why? The infrastructure is good Marketing is good and most importantly diplomatic missions of the countries plays huge roles to make it happen, Not like some of our ambassadors spending retirement doing nothing...
Lastly we must also remember that which ever government in power there were things that we always got and never appreciated.. unlike some other countries in the Asia Education is free for us, Health Services are free these cost a lot of money and a large burden for economy and nevertheless they are ignored as investments... Also some of these other countries make money from means that are not suitable for our country for example Thailand also has problems in the country and not politically very stable but country is doing well why? because of industries such as SEX TOURISM that attracts thousands every year.... so growth is a very relative term...
And we need to focus on tackling the Terrorist problem 1st!!!
That's my opinion!!!
