I think it is carved in sinhalese minds that incurring expenses is a sin..against our simple sinhalese ways..if they spend big money on something that is not absolutely necessary for their survival, they're conditioned to feel guilty..wut's even more amazing is that they think it's heroic to survive that way on so little

400000 Sri Lankan Rupees equals 2760 US Dollar. Why cant an average Sri Lankan live his life in Sri Lanka with this money

I just said what I read machan. Comforte is relative. One might live a month from 20,000 comfortably, and someone else might live comfortably from 80,000. How you define comfort varies, and so will the monthly cost.

I admire Dammika Perera, who said what he thinks the minimum would be 400,000. There's nothing wrong with dreaming big.
