First stop importing Toys . Country should make toys.
Stop Cinemas from Importing excessive English Films. There should be one importer that is the Government. They should play in all cinemas. China imports only 8 films per year I think. We should not pay money for flop films. It should be same for Hindi movies too. Tamil films should be relaxed.
Ban imports of Motorbikes, Bicycles and Autos.
Stop importing Brand New Cars and Vehicles. Unless it is assembled in Sri Lanka.
Sri Lanka should go fully electric cars and Vehicle manufacturing. Future is for AI controlled self driving cars. Electric vehicles saves billions of dollars by reducing fuel import provided we use renewable energy, LNG and Coal to generate electricity.
Stop paying royalties for Pepsi, Coke, McDonald's, Pizza Hut, etc. Let the local start selling their own brands. We do not need those foreign brands.
Like communist country Government should import all items without LCs. Prices will come down. We will not be dumping ground for old tech TVs ,electronics, etc
These things will create local jobs too.
