Sri Lanka Telecom Ratmalana just confirmed that there entire maintenance staff is on strike since the 31st of July 2011. They also confirmed that the strike is not yet over.
Many ADSL services have been hindered and many customers including me have been affected. Also the customer service desks at the SLT head office have not been informed of the issue and is currently causing major confusion to customers.
The reasons for the strike is not yet clear. However as a customer who has seen the inhuman pushing of the technical and maintenance staff it is may be that they have lost there temper. (Once they sent a team to fix a broken network cable... the the tool they were given was worn and broken that it took them 40 minutes to clip two clips to the network cable)... management gives broken things and expects what is known as "OUTPUT" (Throughput)....
