Sri Lanka by opening door to FDI only would not get business companies. Countries compete , Vietnam and other countries is in a better position. It is a competitive world after all. If you tell people to come and invest , only a small percentage will do it.
What Government needs to do is build 1000 new companies. You can get finance to build these companies by issuing IPOs in US, UK, China, India, UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. These companies should be listed in US$ terms in stock exchange. Once these companies are up and running. Government should build another 1000 new companies. It is a cycle it creates jobs. We can employ the whole world.
Government should merge all job center similar to UK and all job portal in Sri Lanka. Every district should have job center. To help people without jobs. All government and private sector jobs should be published in one portal in the country.
