It seems that the Police who everyone knows that consists of uneducated worthless people who cannot find a better job have started to discipline the children (citizens) of the country.
DIG Asoka Wijetilleka, who are you to discipline us? You have been given that uniform to think of the people! You know damn well that people in this country are mostly old people, and you know damn well that most people in this country eat one to two meals a day. And you damn well people cross the street in the shortest distance because people are always tired or either sick because of low nutrition from a unbalanced diet (Hodi panui).
I'll tell you one-thing man, just because you have the law in your hand don't abuse it. Think like a human, think for others, you may eat all your meals from the salary given to you by the people, remember that those people don't have the money you may have to have your meals. Please think like a human being.
Just because some big shot who had lived his life like a army man and has a vision and execution method like one, gives you orders, doesn't mean you should carry it out. Think for others. You, me and everyone wants a beautiful country! but the people first must be ready for it. Its like the say "Cart before the horse".
You say :
And then you say :
If this is not harassment for people who are working hard everyday. What is?
Also in the vehicle case, I parked my bike on the road (not the pavement) to go to a shop to buy a chocolate. Then a officer said that I cannot park on the road at this time and told me to park it on the pavement. So I did. Then as I was coming out of the shop another police officer shouted at me in very bad speaking style saying that I cannot park on the pavement. I ask you were do I park? Firstly get your police officers together and make sure they know the law and make sure there are not bad officers and then come to implement laws. Because otherwise you are giving the law to the wrong people. I was fined for that as well. The chocolate was Rs. 40... the fine was Rs. 1000/- (because as he said I didn't "salakanna").... Also tell your officers to stop wearing those vests. They are a convenient excuse to cover the numbers.
Thanks!

“People must not think we are harassing them. We are trying to discipline them. We are not trying to discipline them for our own convenience or any other reason but for their own safety,” Wijetilleka added.

You say :
Imposing spot fines on pedestrians is not possible by current law. “It is mandatory to produce them in courts and charge them. They will be notified to come to court,”
