You may be the first father who...,,
May be you are a radical one.
We should make a better place to live our children, not only mine.every child.
A better place for our children to live would be a place where they wont be tricked or abducted in to prostitution.
Legalizing the trade is a step towards that.
I'm not being radical, only realistic. I don't want my kid to go in to that trade but neither can I stop it, if she really wants to do it. Only thing I can do is to teach her all aspects of it and hope she makes the intelligent decision.

How many of the smokers and drinkers here had been told not to do it ? but they still do it even after knowing the dangers that comes with it.

    our culture...,will be affected :(
Which culture is that ? the pseudo Victorian culture imposed on us by the europians who maintained that public show of affection is wrong while raping the local girls or the true Sri Lankan culture that cherished the job of the "Nagara Sobiniya" as a profession ?

This is a gud business in SL, but Sl women sell for very low price, Tai, Chinese, women has a higer price, even last nyte near Rajagitiya MCDonalds i saw a hooker looking for someone,

other than legalizing this GOSL should rehab these women and find them new jobs, we dnt want Colombo to be another singapore geylang ?

exactly my point. We need to get out of the victorian mindset. Heck even Europe has grown out of it. Why should we still cling to it ?

Not just the English, it comes from the Portuguese, the Dutch and the English. Our present social behavior is mostly coming from the Victorian era social behavior that was followed in those countries at that time.

why do u want to know???
hmm i went through this thread and can c some ppl r for prostitution   this is absolutely unblvable ....

Every religion practiced in Sri Lanka prohibits adultery and prostitution ...

but as i went through this thread i found a few who want it to make it legalized sayin that it wil help to bring awareness and also guarantee da safety of these prostitutes ......

I think it is bad enuf to even think of doing such a thing .....

what is da reason for da radio company to compile such a program .... ?? is it to promote prostitution ?? NO   it is to stop it from happening ...

some ppl who r addicted to this sort of activity will openly support it :frown: :frown: and they will try to in every possible way to show it as if its not a problem :frown: :frown:

As responsible citizens of Sri Lanka we should make our best efforts to stop this evil and develop our country ..... and make our country prosperous without earning money from selling our mothers and daughters to sex seekers (local and foreign )

    where you don't live!
feel so sorry for these girls/women!
One girl has enough money i remember 6 laks, but still is not quitting this 'job'.
Because its 'easy' way of earning money! Howw sad is that.

Legalizing is not the solution. Here in Holland its legal:baffled: In Amsterdam, you see those girls infront of windows.
NL gov think legalizing will help to keep control of this 'branche'.
but the thing is, here its knda accepted as normal. AND WHICH NEVER SHOULD!!!
By legalizing, people find it normal, and is gonna accept this.
Also its like people/country is accepting women trade.
