machn i hav to disagree ther with u on the maharoof point..because he lacks the technique that is needed to open the inning..i mean look at atapattu..he had amazing technique still he had probs with the best bowlers around the world...

i would suggest malinda warnapura..he has nice talent..better stroke play..i wonder why he wasnt in the tour..but then again udawatte got a chance..and was somewht consistant..

i agree the pitch is very slow..even utseya was getting a lot of spin..difficult to bat on..very much like dambulla ground..so our guys fought well and didnt let go..so it wasnt a bad match at all

bro openning z nt all abt technique
remember in Jayasuriya's Old Days,He hasnt any technique,Only cld play da ball very harf,But later he managed 2 make the technique tht z wanted 2 be 4 a Opener.

My logic z 2 send da Maharoof with da aspect of Pinch Hitting.So tht may be release the pressure on Middle Order F he connects well
Remember Maharoof Scored 3 ODI half Centuries 2.........He has some sort of technique 2 survive.................

Just thnk he z a powerful striker,He can play da ball over da infield very easily.So itz a waste of talent f he comes as da no 7 o 8 batsman and just gets out hit in da air......bcaz when he comes 2 da battng fielders spread out.So itz quite hard 2 bat...........

Warnapura z a good batsman.No doubt there.But then We can add a extra batsman 2 our team as Maharoof Opening da Battng.......
Australia doing that these days with Shane watson opening da innings

Also Shoib Malik,He was da no 11 batsman when he cam 2 da team.Bt 2day hes playng in da position no 4.....................
