Stallone's steroid use 'is medicinal'
SYLVESTER Stallone, the actor, had been using drugs to promote muscle growth for years to treat a medical condition and had no idea he was breaking the law when he brought them into Australia, a court heard yesterday.
He pleaded guilty to two charges of importing banned substances into Australia during a February visit to promote Rocky Balboa. The 60-year-old star said in a letter: "Years ago, I was diagnosed with a condition and my doctors prescribed human growth hormone and testosterone for its treatment.
"Under medical supervision, I have continued to use both medications. I have never supported the use of illegal drugs or engaged in any illegal activities."
