Namo Buddhaya!
A 'Sthupa Wandanawa' and 'Sath Budu Pujawa' was held at Kelaniya Raja Maha Viharaya on 7th October 2008. It was started in the evening with the Sath Budu Wandanawa/Pujawa, followed by the Sthupa Wandanawa. The Sthupa Wandanawa did consist of detailed history/background of Kelaniya pinbima and the details of the three (3) visits by Gautama Samma Sambuddha (our sastrunwahanse) to Sri Lanka. Participants had a rare chance of travelling through the history of Kelaniya, while chanting poems (kavi).
The event was organized by the Upastana Sabhawa & Yowun Sabhawa of the Mahamevnawa Amawathura Asapuwa, under the guidance of Venerable Theros residing at the Asapuwa.
