Taken over in a sense? You mean Airtel will buy Dialog is it?

I don't think that'll happen.

Currently in Sri Lanka, to claim the ownership, one has to buy atleast 30% of the total amount of shares.

Dialog didn't release even 30% at their IPO as I can remember.

So who ever buys the low rate shares, cannot claim the ownership in theory.

you right machan. but bidder can buy some percentage from the market and give a offer to dialog which may be accepted or rejected. if shareholders at least few give their shares, it is still possible. lets see

Personally I don't think Hans will do that :)

Dialog is a good profitable company still. Eventhough Airtel operates in Sri Lanka, dialog will earn their revenue. Not this much definitely. But they wont bancrupt for sure.

dialog earns profits from GSM but failed in other areas like TV,BB,etc. especialy TV. their diversification strategy failed. if they dont exit those segments, the downfall is inevitable.

LMD is a bias observer. you just individually download dialog annual report and evaluate and see. dont forget to include the environment concerns

Correct best4best ?/,.....Indeed ..GSM also was a lost company in 1995 to 1997..but now they are doing fine...It's just a start of DTV....LET'S see what wil happen...Tecnology has been changed and keeps on changing....Dialog is the only one operator who adupt with those changes..mobitel tecno is out of date,,they just fallow the dialog....In future we can't do any thing without internet as well as english these days....

With the world economic crisis not only in SL but all over the world share price gone down. In CSE market price of all company shares decreased drastically during last few week. Even biggest blue chip JKH introduced a shared buy back plan last week under this situation. Also u should remember only less than 20% of issued shares of Dialog trade in CSE. If u thinking of a take over of Dialog, its just a dream which worth more than 75BN rupees. But do u think TM will sell out one of its most profitable undertaking? About Dialog TV & all they still in developing stage thats y still not profit making. However since lots of investment done on them in near future they will start profit making. So macho, stop dreaming, now get up & face to the reality.
