I don't agree with you dggsl...If it's so...they what do you think JKH.MAS,SINGER ..THEY also has beem selected as good CSR companies...is that false.....I do not think so...Have yoou ever seen that mobitel or any other companies doing CSR than dialog...

i agree with you in CSR case. but companies main objective is to maximise the wealth to shareholders to survive. if share holders panic in this situation, the company collaps. this may experience by dialog by introducing per second blaster inline with Upahara.this will further reduce their profit margins while mobitel is backed up by state funds.

the world crisis effect on us is minimal as all controlled by state. if it is inline with the petrol prices here would have been 58 rupees now. dont compare SL with US. not alike in any terms

ya macho, ppl like dggsl always try to find a way to blame Dialog. If they don't to any CSR work then they will say "look, there ppl only think about profit but no concern about society" now since Dialog do lots of CSR work, they say its just show-off.

Taken over in a sense? You mean Airtel will buy Dialog is it?

I don't think that'll happen.

Currently in Sri Lanka, to claim the ownership, one has to buy atleast 30% of the total amount of shares.

Dialog didn't release even 30% at their IPO as I can remember.

So who ever buys the low rate shares, cannot claim the ownership in theory.

very tru macho vry tru... well diallog is tradin @ 8rs which is de all timme low....

bt the thing is out of the total quantity of share dialog only isssued 9% of their totall stake...

so even if he buys all he cannot even get in to the management board...

well de rest is with malasian telekom... they wont be sellin de stake..

whats ur point on introducing Dialog new package? They reduce the price and introduced it to compete in the market. So y r u blaming on that? U want to keep the prices at current level? U have the choice to select what u want.

    macho

im not inline with any mobile companies here or airtel. i just factored a case which may arise with the all time low share price of dialog and reasons behind it. still srilankan mobile rates are expensive comapred to many countries. especially interconnections. remember Airtel not require much profit as their main business is different.

    best

you see what has happened to mobitel now. they introduced Upahara without having capacity to cope, just to win the market before Airtel entering. Dialog follows the same suit. ultimately customers will suffer and they will switch to other networks. this would be a good opening for Airtel to capitalise.
although companies operate for profits, beware airtel to survive, they can operate here at cost based pricing bcos of its huge profits in india. initially they will make losses but when this happens other networks will suffer. finally fall. then monopoly arises. too much competition also creats hicups

i saw in the last issue of finacial times ( sunday times 21/09) dialog was putting up a plan to buy it's own shares to increase the share value ......
