Indian film director Seeman is organising a rally in the southern Indian city of Chennai on Saturday, backing the UN advisory panel on Sri Lanka.
In a statement, cited by 'Malai Malar' newspaper, Seeman also criticised India's 'silence' on the three-member panel named by the UN chief.
He urged all people in the state to attend the rally to demonstrate their support for the UN's bid to investigate alleged human rights violations during the final stages of the war in 2009.
