Tamils in England..... what they do..???

I was wondering about one thing all the time... The Tamils who are living in England have ever asked the English people to learn Tamil for the ease of communication...??? No, never... What they only do is learning English because English is the State Language and majority is English...

But here in Sri Lanka the situation is different... When we made the Sinhala the state language Tamils started fighting.... but still sinhalese are the majority of this country...!!! and now those tamils are telling us to learn Tamil... is that fair...??? you people should learn sinhala men...!!!!

if you really want to learn tamil learn that only as a language not because there are tamils in this country...

i saw even some threads have been created to teach tamil... but you should have created a thread to teach English for our people because it would be more useful to deal with the world and the the english knowledge of most our members is very weak ..!!!

This is just my opinion... like to know yours too...

my tamil friends no hard feelings please... you teach tamil to the english people out ther in England first and then ask us to learn Tamil....!!!!

In any country (as I know) minority speaks what majority speaks!

Learning another language would be good for your knowledge but there's no practical use Sinhalese learning Tamil compared to other way around!

In general its logical that Tamils learn Sinhalese than Sinhalese learn Tamil..

However having said that there are exceptions too, if a Sinhalese intend to live in the North he/she may learn Tamil because that will make that's person's life much easier! Also if you visit the hill country like Badulla, Bandarawela etc. you can find many Sinhalese speaking Tamil Language fluently!

Not only in England where ever Tamils live they speak the language of the majority, here in Malaysia no government documents are printed in Tamil or Chinese, only in Malay.

At least in SL they are printed in all 3 languages!

my friend u are talking about the north and east ha...???? ok we had a bloody war for 30 years... We let the Tamils (and only tamils) to gather around Nothern and Eastern provinces... ultimately what happened...??? those freaks went against our nation.... they wanted to divide our SRI LANKAN nation.... that should never happen again... in Jaffna, Vavuniya any where we have to settle sinhala people according to the ethnic ratios...!!! and then eventually the tamil people there would learn sinhala... unlsess we can never control these tamils trying to divide our nation again..!!! i know well they will try to do it again... because it is not something the tamils in Sri Lanka want but the freaks all over the world need....

and the same thing in muslim areas... we should never let only tose people to gather....!!!! you know well what is happenning in Maligawatta ryt????

yeah my friend you are right... they won't become patriot... but if all the people in the prevailing generation starts talking one language, definitely sinhala, by the time after two three generations the people in our country, including tamils, muslims all will tend to think like one nation... SRI LANKANS...!!!!

that's why i said we have to mix the people... we should never let any other race to get separated... as the majority we have to keep all linked together... unless they will again try to piss us off...!!!!
