Sri Lanka Income Tax Act, No. 24 of 2017: This legislation outlines tax obligations, including residency status, taxable income, and foreign income treatment for residents and non-residents.

    Foreign-Sourced Income and Remittances

    • Foreign income is taxable if you are a resident. However, there are certain exemptions and concessions for foreign-sourced income. For example, remittances from abroad for individuals employed overseas might have exemptions.
    • Any foreign income remitted to Sri Lanka, such as from investments or remote work, would typically be subject to tax.

Then, I guess you're not taxable under Sri Lankan law, but you might be taxable in your actual country of residence. Most countries have relaxed tax systems to prevent double taxation on earned income.

Any specific sources to prove that visiting srilanka and working there doesn't have taxes? I need it for a friend of mine who wants to visit us and do workation (work + vacation)
