Tax increase : potatoes

Import tax on potatoes has been increased from existing Rs. 10 to Rs. 20 per kilogram with immediate effect, the President’s office said.

The decision has been taken following the instruction from President Mahinda Rajapaksa, it said.

can't you read? it says IMPORT Tax.
the local harvest has been high this time around and the government has increased the levy on imported potatoes so that the local farmers won't go bankrupt..

i don't see anything wrong with this decision
