Tax Issue for a shipment

    What happens if I don't pay it and clear it?

    1. DHL officials clear it and take the goods home for their kids and wives
    2. DHL doesn't clear it and custom officers clear it and take the goods home for their kids and wives
    3. Nobody clears it and custom auctions them later

    මටත් ඔය වගේ හුකන වැඩක් උනා, ඔසී ඉන්න මගෙ මෙන්ට කාරයා උගෙ ලැපට වැඩිපුර රැම් එකක් ඉල්ලලා ඌට වැරදි එකක් එවලා තිබ්බ. මේක උනෙ මම ජොයින් උනම කාලේ. පස්සෙ මූ අපරාදේ කියලා මට ඕක mail කලා. අන්තිමට බන් මට ඕක මෙහෙන් ගන්නවට වඩා ගානක් tax + Demurrages ගෙවලා ගන්න උනෙ :lol: :lol:

    මට ප්‍රශ්නෙ තියෙන්නෙ ඕක ගිෆ්ට් එකක්නම් ඇයි උන් ඕකට චාර්ජ් කරන්නෙ. එහෙම ටැක්ස් ෆ්‍රි gift එවන්න බැරිද බන් ලංකාවෙ?

    Ewana ekata puluwan pre tax gewala label ekak dala ewanna.tax eka etakota ewapu ekagen thama charge wenne.

    So basically someone from abroad needs to take care of the taxes if they want to gift someone? can't even ship used stuff?

    Yep you have to pay taxes on all foreign parcels afaik
    Just remembered another story, When I got married I received a $50 cheque (this was when the dollar was when the usd was around 130) as a gift from a relative. Those assholes could have just give a note instead of a fucking cheque. Those days I didn't have money so that was a big amount for us. And to change that to money I think I would have had to pay more than that out of my pocket. I returned it :D

    in simple terms yes if its air cargo, clearing process is going to charge you for the HS code of relevant items, if cusdec hs code is wrong you are going to pay the fine to that also. used stuff kiyala condition ekak na, you have to give them the invoice for the amount u paid before shipping

    Ok so if they devalue it our guys will still look at the market value and then tax for that amount right?
