Airtel wowed when they launching that they can get huge market share. But with in passed 5 months they didn't expand any inner country city for 3g users.. But dialog expanding to fibre optic cables throut the country.. But i'm not happy with theire broadband package witch has so higher chargers and less speed.. By the way airtel has so good package on broadband, but the reason is they don't want to expand it.. So many customers waiting in rural areas 4 broadband.. Kurunegala out of city limit one example.. Bt airtel only covering negambo, i don't know for what reason they did it. Because it has mobitel dialog and wimax also.. I think airtel should concern about major cities which wimax and others can't reach.. Then they can get the market.

Expanding to areas where there is no other provider is good but the areas like negombo etc have a bigger customer base. Rural areas will only have a small number of customers and the cost to expand to provide HSPA is very high so the company has to make a decision as to which area will be the best for this expansion. So due to these reasons you should know why airtel or any other company for that matter isnt covering those areas. ;)

Airtel not even having enough bandwidth to serve existing broadband customers too.
Their actual speeds are very low compared to other srilankan mobile broadband providers. Sometimes its hard to even load a web page.

So first they have to improve their internet bandwidth.

I'm sending messages to my friends in SL and they would get them about 1 hour later and many of them "failed to deliver too"

Its really CRAP, from my experience!

where do they live in sri lanka? on it's launch on the rush there's this guy who has apllied for a free sim and found one tested it in near negambo..... but it had very poor signals for that area and couldn't even make any calls or texts with it...... it may have expanded them by now, but on the start it wasn't worth any, even for free for some locations....

Airtel has good speed between 1 a.m. To 7 a.m. In weekdays.. That's all they got.. I used it in kandy, last month.. So sucks.. Then i disconnect it with full of blames.. I think now it may worst, by expanding customers with stand still network.

They need to improve international bandwidth, coverage and infrastructure before adding too many customers. Otherwise airtel will be same as dialog HSDPA.
