Fourteen years ago, nearly 3000 people lost their lives in the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. Without the bravery of servicemen, women and animals the numbers could have been even higher.
Bretagne – a golden retriever – was one of the search dogs working on that fateful day, alongside her handler Denise Corliss. She is the last known living search and rescue dog that worked on 9/11, so to honour her sixteenth birthday – because that’s a pretty big one in dog years – her pals decided to give her the “best day ever”.
After all, she is a hero!
