So your source is: Trust me dude?Just remember one thing. Kottu Roti is a variety of Indian food. It came with Tamil citizens. It is only a popular dish in Sri Lanka.
There’s no such thing as a Tamil citizen. Either they are SL or Indian citizens.

THat's why I always call it Wackypedia.....I thought it's pure south Indian until i found this Wikipedia page
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kottu
Seems like indians have a kottu variant originated in madurai Tamil Nadu, India. It is made using parata from bleached flour locally called maida. Other indian variants of kottu parata are muttai kottu parata, chilli parata. It is also called Veechu parata in Kerala, India. I wonder whether they invented this recipe their self or they came to know about this from Sri Lanka.

Wikipedia has rules - lots of rules. One obvious one is not being dishonest. Another is avoiding opinion and sticking to verifiable facts. But it is possible to set up a user account with a pseudonymous username to allow you to edit anonymously. However, using anonymous accounts for blatant misrepresentation and puffery - known as sock puppetry - is often spotted and the offending content challenged or removed by other editors.THat's why I always call it Wackypedia.....
PS: Don't try to figure out the origin. Enjoy it if you like. Is the Chinese roll Chinese?
You could be right. Wikipedia itself admits that it;s not a reliable source. The overall accuracy is about 80% according to some sources. I don't rely on it for things like this.Wikipedia has rules - lots of rules. One obvious one is not being dishonest. Another is avoiding opinion and sticking to verifiable facts. I think they’re called Chinese rolls because they look a little like Chinese egg rolls, during colonial time the colonists brought Chinese laborers to Sri Lanka. I predict this menu was invented at that period. The taste is different thoughTHat's why I always call it Wackypedia.....

හරියට දන්නෙ නෑ. මම කාල තියෙන්නෙ එළවලු එක විතරයි...Do they add chicken in to it ? As i know saivar restaurants only serve vegetarian food. Saivam means vegetarian in Tamil.
Nope... The Chinese probaly had the Chimese spring Rolls and the Fritters. The origin of the SriLakan Chinese Roll is Dutch.I think they’re called Chinese rolls because they look a little like Chinese egg rolls, during colonial time the colonists brought Chinese laborers to Sri Lanka.
