My Dear Friends First of all its a pleasure to help people and specially to see someone being benifitted from such a help brings great joy Viduruwan, its a pleasure to see you in this discussion - he is a batchmate of mine studing a degree in computing, so anything related to this subject you could get advice from him as well I will answer all your questions here There are several institutes that offer degrees now, and some of these institutes have gone into the extent of offering private Medical degrees as well, but I do accept the fact that the choice is somewhat limited but there is a larger variety now. Related to this there is a guide being published known as "The Education Guide of Sri Lanka" they have a website as well. This guide book has information on all the institutes private and public, their programs and entry requirements. However there are many more institutes and campuses that are hoping to establish here, so there will be a greater choice for you As for your second question, many sri lankan's prefer degrees in LLB (Law), IT (mostly software engineering) and Business related subjects, and even though the war is over, the impact on the country's economy has not been changed yet, therefore my advice for you is to choose a field that will interest you or that will motivate you to learn and research, so that you could even impress your employers and sub ordinates with your knowledge in the field. As for your third question, all these institutes are private concerned, you might find a handful of semi government institutes, apart from that all these institutes are private. I hope I was sucessful in answering your questions, any help needed please don't hesitate to ask Thank You
